Knapegården Råö Lammgård

Sälsafari

Book a seal safari to the big colony of harbour seals on the western side of the Onsala Peninsula. The safari is led by Captain Axel and lasts for approx two hours. Maximum four adult passengers.

The tour comprises a visit to the inner seal isles outside Råö, a cruise with a camera hunt in the outer isles, which include a large seal protection area (bring your own camera). The tour also includes a visit to one of the coast’s notorious hideaways from 18th-century piracy activity near the coast.

Price for 2011: 800 SEK per person

Everything is included in the price, independent of number of passengers. The seal safari can be booked from June to August 2011.

Knapegården Råö Lammgård

Guidade gårdsbesök

Råö manor farm with a lamb farm dates from the Middle Ages. Centuries of local shipping traditions have left their mark on the farm’s history. The piracy activity during the Great Northern War has also left traces.

In summer, Råö Lammgård welcomes groups of visitors of 8-16 persons to see part of the current manor farm, which dates from the year 1754 (declared a historic monument in 1994). The farmhands tell the farm’s history and a bit about the maintenance of an old building like this. Råö Lammgård can serve coffee in the manor farm’s nice 18th-century dining room by arrangement.

Price: 300 SEK basic charge plus 20 SEK per visitor. Coffee etc is available to order at an additional cost. Guided farm visits are available from May to September 2010.

Vildamark arranges courses based on your knowledge and previous experience of sea kayaks. Beginner courses take place on Lake Hjörneredssjön for a quiet start. We use experienced instructors trained according to the Nordic Association for Sea Kayak Instructors’ licence (Nordisk Instruktörslicens, NIL). Gottskärs Kajak

Tjolöholmspaketet

The journey starts in Gottskär harbour, and the paddling to Tjolöholm Castle takes approx one hour. The fjord offers natural protection against strong west winds. Along the way, we pass many islands that are easy to reach by kayak. Tjolöholm estate has several beautiful islands. It is also possible to paddle around Tjolöholm Peninsula to look for hidden spots. Paddling with or without a leader.

Once at Tjolöholm Castle, you can stop at the castle beach. After paddling, a relaxing walk to Storstugan with coffee and tasty homely fare made from local produce is recommended. The kayak package also includes a guided tour of the castle.
