The Mecca of the tapestry world set in lush greenery
The Tapestry museum is beautifully situated in the rural homestead grounds, and is Sweden’s only archival museum for folk art without international parallel. The museum displays an uninterrupted 200 year old tradition of tapestry from the area around Unnaryd.
The tapestry paintings zoom in on the wealth of details of farm life in the past and take us along on a journey into the lives and thoughts of the people. In addition to the tapestry museum there are a number of other interesting buildings on the grounds, e.g. one of the few operational rough home spinning mills.
There are fantastic nature reserves with wonderful nature walks in the areas surrounding Bonadsmuseet in Unnaryd.
