A must for the mushroom lover!
At the Friesminnet memorial you can view an exhibition on Elias Fries, a leading botanist in Sweden, second only to Linneaus, who’s systematising of fungi became the standard when naming different species. Elias was born in 1794 and raised in the old vicarage in Femsjö. He became professor at Uppsala and member of the Swedish Academy, while still often returning to his childhood home where he enjoyed playing a game of cards with the farmhands of the vicarage.
The museum is located next to the vicarage in Femsjö, some 10 kilometres outside of Hyltebruk. The Friesminnet memorial also houses a number of interesting publications. Visit the information site next to the old school in Femsjö.

Directions
From the E6, exit 44 Halmstad Ö/Växjö, drive along road 25 towards Växjö/Kalmar. After approx. 14 km, in Simlångsdalen, drive towards Femsjö. The Friesminnet memorial is located a few hundred metres from the church in Fremsjö, next to the vicarage.
Alt exit 45, Halmstad N/Jönköping, drive along road 26 towards Jönköping/Hyltebruk. Follow signs for Femsjö.
