Christmas at Wapnö
November 22, 2012 - November 25, 2012Christmas at Wapnö, a country estate just outside Halmstad, attracted over 12 000 visitors and is now the biggest Christmas fair on the west coast. The event brings together Sweden’s best craftspeople, farmers and small-scale food producers. The food stalls are packed with all the delights of a Swedish Christmas. Explore all the different foods from small-scale producers – kale, Christmas sweets, stonebaked bread, delicious jams and juices, Småland cold meats, stockfish etc.

O-ringen in Halland 2012
The world’s largest orientation competition takes place in Halland during the last week of July 2012.
Halmstad is host town and the competitions will offer a mixed terrain of sandy beaches, beach- and inland forests. A spectacular sea lap, complete with salty sea spray is being planned. Read more at www.oringen.se.
Swedish Championships 2013
Following the success of the summer 2011 event, Halmstad has once again been given the honour of staging this fantastic festival of sport. The Swedish Sports Confederation and SVT have chosen Halmstad to be the host city of the Swedish Championships Week in summer 2013. Both major and minor sports will be represented, including swimming and athletics.
Football 2013
UEFA Women’s European Football Championships 2013
Sweden will be hosting the UEFA Women’s European Football Championships in 2013 and Halmstad will be one of the six host towns. The tournament will run from 10 to 28 July 2013 with three group matches and one quarter final played in Halmstad. More information »
